2024 Monk Class. The most “generic” of the monk’s subclasses, the warrior of the open hand monk is perhaps the most illustrative of the monk as a class. First introduced as a subclass of cleric in 1975, the monk class has undergone many changes over its tenure in dungeons & dragons.
Every one of the monk’s 2014 phb subclasses got significant changes, and they’re joined by the warrior of mercy subclass, which is the only 5e monk subclass to be nerfed. The 2024 player’s handbook brings the return of one of the most distinctive classes in dungeons & dragons.
